Night vision goggles (allows you to see in the dark in the first unlit area). This is not a dangerous mission, so selecting items is largely preference.
Approaching the Depot
Most conversation choices leading up to the Depot have no impact on success, but they affect relationship scores. At the depot, select “Let Javier try to open the door while you stand watch.”
Downstairs storage area
Best route to trigger the Colin event:
- Check the control panel
- Press the button marked “command”
- Leave the control panel
- Head back upstairs
During the Colin event, it is best not to provide your real name or location. The event ends when the female captive breaks up the conversation and provides you with the password for the garage area. Scientists should kill the zombies to gain valuable research specimens.
After entering the code in the control panel, you face two choices: investigating a moaning noise (leads to finding Javier and discovering he is infected with the Zeta virus) or inspecting the odd wall. If you bypass the Javier encounter, you may suffer relationship hits with other survivors who feel you abandoned him.
Vehicle selection
- Truck — carries the most cargo (useful if the Cathedral is low on food).
- Jeep — provides utility in future missions in Part 4.
- Motorcycle — a vanity choice only.
